Dolphin tank = water

A woman who spells her name in a strange way is suing the Chicago Zoo because there was water on the ground next to the dolphin tank. Allecyn Edwards was walking next to the tank where the dolphins were preforming when she slipped on some water and fell down. She said her injuries were so bad that she needs $50,000 for lost wages, medical expenses and “emotional trauma”. I call bullshit. She should learn to watch where she is walking. If I’m near a huge tank of water I watch for water on the ground because I have a little thing called common sense. This woman said the trainers “recklessly” trained the dolphins to splash water. Hey Allecyn, it’s a dolphin show! Hasn’t this lady ever been to Sea World? Dolphins are suppose to splash during a dolphin show; that’s what makes it entertaining. The thing that really pisses me off about this is the fact that if she wins she’s taking money from the animals in the zoo. The lion could have had a bigger living space but Allecyn couldn’t be bothered to watch where she was going.

Hurry UP before you miss the bandwagon

We all remember what happened when Borat came out; Sacha Baron Cohen was sued numerous times by a slew of people. With the coming release of Cohen’s new movie Bruno, the first lawsuit has reared it’s head. This lawsuit is a bit different from all of the others, though. The woman suing Cohen is alleging he disabled her at a bingo hall. Apparently there was some sort of wrestling between the woman and Cohen which resulted in bleeding in her brain.  That really sucks. Since the incident, the woman has been confined to a wheelchair and has lost a lot of weight. I’m not saying Cohen is guilty because I wasn’t there and I don’t know what happened, but if this is true he’s kind of an asshole. It’s fine to make people look like jackasses but don’t rough people up, that’s just uncalled for.

Lucie J. Kim has filed a massive 4-billion dollar class action suit against Miley Cyrus over this photo.

Literally and Figuratively

Leeds University has apologized after throwing away some exceptional crap. Daniel Bennett had been studying the Butaan lizard, a relative of the Komodo dragon, for his Ph.D. Because the lizard is shy, and because Bennett is conscientious like that, he had been studying the lizard’s diet through sophisticated scat study.

After a trip abroad, he returned to find his 77-pound bag of unlabeled feces was disposed of during a clear-out of his lab. Which goes to show you: don’t throw shit away. (more…)

I got the ill misappropriation

The AP is suing Shepard Fairey for his admitted use of one of their photos in his iconic HOPE image. The AP wants credit and compensation, which makes absolutely no sense. Even assuming they could get through all the hurtles (misappropriation and Fair Use) and get to the recovery stage of the suit, it is mind-boggling that they would bother.
