AdmittedlyAddicted, your wishes may not be far fetched

Earlier this week I asked you who you’d like to play you in a movie of your life, and AdmittedlyAddicted chose Depp.  Who can blame her?  He’s a great guy, a great actor and just quirky enough to make it fun.  Of course, I assume she was being a bit absurd, but it seems it’s not as absurd as we might think.

Earlier this month Depp revealed his “dream role” would be to play 88-year-old Carol Channing in a biopic of her life because “she’s amazing.” Now Channing has given him her seal of approval, telling the Advocate:

It is not a new concept to me. Not at all. Men have been imitating me for as long as I can remember. In fact, most of the impersonations I have seen have had a five o’clock shadow.  I imagine, when or if Johnny should portray me, he will succeed. Because a true artist, such as himself, is one who loves his or her creation and therefore represents their honest view of that which they are creating. I think he is a gifted performer and I would be very proud, as well as interested in seeing what his vision of me would be.

Looks like AdAd or anyone else that wants Depp to portray them needs to start working on their Hello Dolly! routine.

President Obama signed a law that gives Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and Commerce Secretary Gary Locke the power to withdraw this damaging regulation, but their deadline to act is May 10th! If they fail to take action by this date, the regulation stays in effect and polar bears and other wildlife on the brink of extinction will lose legal protection they need to survive.
