Childhood Memories
I was born in Buffalo, but moved to Florida the summer I was 8. One summer a year to two later, the family loaded into our mustard yellow 70’s edition Volvo and drove (DROVE!) back to Buffalo for a visit. Somewhere in the Carolinas, my dad pulled into a gas station and, when he came back from paying (no pay-at-the-pump!), he returned with a tape: 20 of Hank Williams’ Greatest Hits. Of course I had a Walkman and of course I listened to Greatest Hits, and only Greatest Hits, the way there and back. My parents cursed the name Kaw-Liga by the end. Anyhow, sparklefarts for Hank, y’all!

Alligator bait in the Louisiana bayou.
Mr. #1 and I traveled down the Nola this past Thanksgiving week. The lovely Cait and Mister played host and we shocked the hell out of the Angry Black Lady, temporarily making her the Stunned Black Lady. In celebration, I bring you the Jerry Reed classic Amos Moses.

I’ve got a Fever(Ray) and the ly cure is, well, you know.
Don’t really have much to say, love the video and the song. I think it came to mind because I just finished reading Andromeda Klein, Frank Portman’s newest book. So, you know, buy that and King Dork (which I liked better).
Where do you know Frank Portman from? Find out after the jump.

Groovy Edition
Squeeps, I am in a good mood. Things around the Number 1 work site have calmed down and I now get to listen to music for something other than keeping me from passing out from exhaustion. To that end, I share with you one of my all time fave shake-your-booty tracks, which also doubles as a super fun karaoke tune. So put on your 90s psychedelia faux fur and get down. Groove is in my heart, babies.

Peaches Edition
The title track to I Feel Cream, Peaches’ latest album, and is catchy as hell, nuff said. The production on this track is so slick. The video is slightly NSFW (natch) - but only ever so slightly. There also may be a rapped line about a “deep dick.” Interesting tidbit of trivia, Peaches is the only member on Team No Pants who is, exactly, awesome, and can get away with it.
Bonus video after the jump. NSFW due to F-bombs, but HILARIOUS!

LL Cool Edition
I have had a bullshit month, basically, and have been needing some good, invigorating tunes. This weekend that need took me back to 1990 and LL Cool J. Nothing quite gets the blood pumping like a little Ladies Love, who certainly earns his name. So buck up, number one, this month is almost over. If all else fails, I will knock a fothermucker out!
Bonus hotness after the jump!

Peanut Butter Belly Time! Edition
So working yesterday I put on some music to make the time go a bit faster - and Leeds United came on. It occured to me that I had not posted it as a MM and I totes meant to! Back in November 2008 there was a brou-ha-ha because Amanda Palmer’s record company, Roadrunner, refused to release the below video unless shots of her “fat” belly were removed. Palmer promptly told them to go fuck themselves. So awesome story, awesome song, enjoy!

Grows On You Edition
Here is what’s going to happen. You are going to watch the below video and think, “That song is sort of annoying, but cool video.” The later, perhaps today or tomorrow, you are going to think about the video and say, “Man, that was pretty awesome. I need to watch it again.” When you watch the video, the song will be a bit more catchy. This scenario may play itself out a few more times, but trust me, within the next two weeks you will find yourself humming this song.

Yom Kippur it baby, go ahead baby.
Listen, I looked for Yom Kippur songs but I was super worried about accidentally offending someone given that one of the Youtube posters was all, “I am posting this with great trepidation.” I mean, if the poster was worried, what makes me think that I should post. So I let my subconscious work on the problem, et voila, everyone loves The Cure AND it mentions heaven. Enjoy!

Warning: sit down when you watch this or you’ll fall over, Edition
After a very long day Friday, I came home to the most darling gift from Mr. Numberone. A small token of affection what was so sweet and considerate. He just gets me. Anyhow, I decided I should share my bounty with you dear Squee-ers. Remember, (laugh so hard you) puff, puff, pass.
Bonus after the jump!

Belabored Edition
You know, everyone I know is working their ass off. At an old job, new job, finding a job - everyone has been killing themselves to get by - damn you economy! So here’s a little ditty to celebrate everyone who is having a rough time right now. Remember to take a moment out of your day for some 80s style jazz dancing in the street.

Birthday, Dammit! Edition
Today our most adorable Hag is another year older, half a year wiser, and more Canadian than ever. (Seriously, she just moved - to somewhere ELSE in Canada. That makes her like, twice as Canadian or something.) Janet encourages our bi-country tendencies with a tender “eh” and some maple candy. And by maple candy I mean booze. Homegirl can drink! So raise your glass, wish her well, and leave your best joke in the comments section.

Daft Punk Edition
I think I done broke my brain, y’all! I am burnt the eff out. So, because it is all I can handle, I decided we should all enjoy some awesome aural dessert with a dollop of visual awe. I mean, do you remember when this video came out? Man Michel Gondry kicks ass - he encapsulated the song so perfectly and so unexpectedly. So turn your brain off, relax and enjoy. It’s Monday, and I’m not up yet!

Bobbbaaay! Edition
When I was little and saw this video, I wanted to BE Whitney Houston. From the pink eye shadow, to the big hair, to the poofy skirt (or one-armed dress) she was pure style and class - and she didn’t mind shaking a boy until he agreed to dance with her (I could relate). I thought she was one cool lady. Plus, the song was good. So let’s forget all about the doody bubble incident for a while: tie a scarf in your hair, put on some Keds (or kitten heels) and find somebody to dance with.

Cristal’s Birthday Edition
Ding, dang, y’all! People be having birthdays and shit! Next up is our very own commenter (and wedding enthusiast) Cristal Methodd, who was born yesterday some years ago - and we’re all the better for it. With a smile and an ass that just won’t quit, Cristal is some 100% pure, high-octane enthusiasm covering a squishy nougat center of sweetness and topped with a great head of hair. So, from all of us, Cristal, keep on karaoke-ing on. Happy belated birthday, may all your squees come true!
