I’m just going to cut to the chase this week.  My 5 year-old niece who I love beyond words has gotten me sick again around Christmas for the second year in a row.  For the sake of this post we’ll call her Patient Zero. If she does it one more year, I think we are going to look into sealing her in a plastic bubble for the holidays.

She infected me with what I can only assume is the Elementary school version of Captain Trips. So before I slip back into a fever dream, here are your time wasters.

I’m in the mood to kill stuff. So this week the games are all about unleashing your inner postal worker. First up is a game that tells you everything you need to know about it right up front in it’s name. The game is Penguin Massacre. Lock and load and get ready to defend your igloo from the advancing penguin army.

This week’s first game is the classic game Breakout with a Xmas theme and some power ups. Snowball Breakout has added a few interesting power-ups to the game. Next up is a game all about destruction. It’s called Miami Shark and the creators have clearly seen the cinematic master piece Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus. Good luck bringing down the Space Shuttle.

Family Escape Time

This week’s post is a bit different. Since a lot of people are going to be stuck with their families for a day or two, in some cases against their will, you can use some of these links as a way to get away for a while. Or at the very least shift focus off the why you aren’t married yet or have kids questions.

If you happen to be working for the holiday, you can still stick it to the boss and waste some time. Thursday is Thanksgiving, they don’t really expect you to work, do they?

The first game is the puzzle game Bejeweled.  It’s a simple game to play and can be used to distract annoying relatives if they don’t take the hint to leave you alone when you on the computer. If need be, you can get them playing this game while you go hide somewhere else.

The games this week are a bit different. Instead of hurling farm animals or trying to kill something you’re going to be testing your hand eye coordination and giving your brain a workout. Don’t worry, I promise both games are entertaining.

First up is Brain Training Gym. You can choose between four mini-games as you race against the clock to finish. Your time will be compared to the times of other players to see where you rank.  I found this to be a strangely addictive game.

This week’s first game we have to keep a secret. We can’t let our resident Angry Black Lady find out about it.  The game is called Haystax. All the black sheep have decided to get on top of the bales of hay and the farmer in the dell has a problem with that. So the farmer sets out to oppress the black sheep and keep them down by kicking white sheep at them and knocking them off their pedestals.  I bet this farmer voted for McCain-Palin.

This week’s first game is called Red Ball 2: The King. It’s a simple game to play, all you have to do is use the arrow keys to move. The King, not Elvis, has lost his crown and it’s up to you to help him get it back.

Whose ready to play a naked guy on a bicycle riding through a frozen wasteland? Well I’m glad to hear it because that is our next game. The game is Icycle and the goal is to stay on the bike, collect the bubbles and try not to freeze your junk off. OK, I added that last part but it should be part of the goal.

Our first game this week is actually a web site with games designed to make it look like your are actually working. So far there are only three games on the site.  I like the Cost Cutter game. Check it out.

OK, now this next one isn’t really a game; there are games on the site but the real draw is the multiplying dots. You start with four big dots and each time you move the mouse over one, it breaks down in to four smaller dots. Trust me, it’s strangely addicting.

This week’s first game is called Jumpie. All you have to do is sling shot yourself up in the air, grab as many points as you can and land on the platform. It’s easy to play and easy to lose some valuable work time to, and isn’t that what you are here to do. My first time through the game I scored 328 points, see if you can beat me.

It’s that time of the week again. It’s time to enjoy some odd links and games or curse my name for getting you in trouble with the boss.

Since the Impossible Quiz was such a hit last week, I thought this week would be a good time to give you the Stupidity Test. If you are taking this at work please be kind to your fellow workers and try not to swear too loud.

This next game is kind a twisted. Normally in a game the goal is to live but that’s not the case in Karoshi Suicide Salaryman. Your goal in here is to help Karoshi find the sweet release of death and some of the levels are pretty tricky to figure out. So get ready to tap into your inner Dexter.

It’s that time again, so just look at your screen and pretend to be deep in thought.

When I was a kid Where the Wild Things Are was, hands down, my favorite book. When I read  it was being made into a live action movie I wasn’t sure how well it could be pulled off. To my great relief, Spike Jonze seems to have done an amazing job with it. Maurice Sendak, the book’s writer has already given the film his approval. Checkout the trailer. after the jump.

This week I’m giving you a variety of things to while away the work day, three of which are games. Two games are simple time wasters and one is a black hole of time suck, so you were warned.

First up, one of the mindless games.  It comes from adultswim.com. This game is not for cat lovers. It’s a little game called Meowcenaries. The evil black cat has kidnapped the President and it’s up to you to lead you kitty commandos in to battle to rescue him. Its simple controls for movement, and you click the mouse button to fire.

The other mindless time waster is also from adultswim.com, and is a game called Zombie Hooker Nightmare. It’s up to you to save the John’s from the undead hookers and make a

Now for the hard one. Don’t blame me if you get annoyed/addicted to this one, blame TheHobo. She turned me lose on it last week and I’ve been playing on and off ever since. This is a great game if you like puzzles. It’s called 3D Logic.

Time to stick it to the boss

First up this week is a game about killing smiley faces. If we could replace the smiley faces with little cupcakes we would never be able to get Mae to stop playing. We would read about her being up for 13 days strait playing the game and she’d be completely dehydrated. They might even have to amputate her mouse-clicking finger, so maybe it’s a good thing they are smiley faces.

I have to admit that I am addicted to this next game. It’s a simple bubble pop game but with a twist. Hit bubbles of the same color together to reduce their number. When a bubble gets to 1 it will pop when it touches a bubble of its same color. Pop as many as you can before they float to the bottom and end the game. Play it with the music on if you can, it’s actually pretty relaxing.
