Goodbye and Hello
When Busey Closes A Door, He Opens a Window and Turns on a Ceiling Fan
Squeeple,
I have started my own blog, cleverly titled Angry Black Lady Chronicles. You can find it here. I encourage you all to come hang out over there. One of the most amazing things about serving as co-editor of this blog with Lily the Pink over the last eleven months was creating this community. A bunch of strangers suddenly found themselves turning to one another for support. Some of you are even friends in “real life” now. I find that amazing and inspiring. So, thank you for being part of this. I appreciate it so very much. I also want to thank Lily, especially, for all that she taught me about this blog business. It is because of her tutelage over the last year that I was able to build my own blog in a matter of days.
My blog is going to be much of the same as that which you saw here on Thundersquee! Despite the name, it’s not a blog just for black people (although several of you are having your membership considered by the committee…you know who you are) and it won’t be a blog where I solely rant about “black” subjects (whatever the hell that means.) Besides, if you didn’t know by now, my mom is as white and Jewwy as they come.
My blog will be for people who like funny, people who like snark, people who like vitriol, and people who like to read whatever spews forth from my crazy mind. I will say what I want and will give you the opportunity to say what you want (and I hope you take me up on it.) Hell, I won’t even mind if you go all Harry Reid and throw around the term “Negro” in the comments section.

Please to be bearing with us

We are having technical difficulties. The Internet Overlords are screwing with our universe. There are zombies at the gate. Best in Squee! and further Thundersquee! brand shenanigans coming soon.
In the meantime, please amuse yourself with this ponycorn picture:

Please to bear with us.

The Internet Overlords have not been kind to Thundersquee! this week. Please bear with us for the next few days. Several of us are in transit to New Orleans for the Kitchen Bitch and NFL Guy’s wedding (I’m currently blogging from LAX), and our fearless web Dominatrix the Pink is without interwebz to dominate.
Al Gore, you’re on my list–and not the good one, either.
I heard a rumor that there will be wireless on my flight. If that’s true, Al, I might be lenient.

Adding Photos to Comments
To add a comment to a post you have to use a little html, specifically, the image tag.
It should look like this:
<img src=”http://www.theurlofyourphoto/myimage.jpg” />
The photos must not be more than 480 pixels wide or they will bleed over into the right hand column where all the category links are. The easiest way to accomplish this is to use an image hosting service like Photobucket.com to host the image (you’ll need to create an account). If the image is somewhere on the intarwebs, save it to your computer then upload it to photobucket. With photobucket you can upload an image and edit it, then save it. Once you do that, when you go back to your “album” and mouseover your images, it will give you several “link options.” Copy the text from the box that is labeled “HTML Code” then paste it into your comment.
The code will look different than the code above. It will look like this:
<a href=”http://s262.photobucket.com/albums/ii98/my_bucket/?action=view¤t=my_image.jpg” target=”_blank”><img src=”http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii98/my_bucket/my_image.jpg” border=”0″ alt=”Photobucket”></a>
This is OK. It’s just an image with a link tag around it.
If your code disappears, that will be because you miscopied it, so recopy it, making sure you’ve gotten all of it and try again. :)
Have fun,
Lily
UPDATE: Hold that thought. Word Press is being uncooperative. :)

Edit Comments
Hola, Squeers! You now have the power to edit your own comments. Use this power wisely…or not. That’s up to you.
After you submit a comment, an icon and link that says “click to edit” will appear under your comment, as will a timer that shows you how much time you have left to edit the comment. Currently the timer is set to 5 minutes because I’m working on it, but I will be changing that soon.
UPDATE: Changed to 30 minutes if you aren’t logged in. If you are logged in you should be able to do so anytime you are logged in.
