Which isn't surprising since I'm hungover on a Monday--clearly my priorities got shuffled around a little. I manage a jewelry store, and when I know the owner is going to be there I make a little list of projects to work on to look busy. Restock receipts, polish silver, reorganize gemstones...I did none of this crap when I was at work yesterday, just so I can run around and look effectual for the few hours he'll be in today. That story makes me want to enlist. Which isn’t surprising since I’m hungover on a Monday–clearly my priorities got shuffled around a little.

It worked everytime because my commander never signed off on them when I needed him to. So I got away with a lot. Or, I'd just have my assitant cover for me and tell the commander I was off base for a training meeting while I was in downtown Seoul getting hammered at noon. It's amazing how far threatening someone's weekend pass got you in those days. We lost our secretary who took care of the department's finances, so now I'm doing all the work she used to do in addition to everything else I've always done.
